The bridge is probably Humberside's most famous landmark. Since its construction the old county of Humberside has been split into East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, Hull and Goole. The bridge links East Yorkshire on the north bank of the River Humber to North Lincolnshire on the south bank.
